of Activities of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance

and Personal Data Protection in June 2017

I. Case Statistics

In June 2017, the Commissioner’s Office received a total of 863 cases, including:

· 394 cases in connection with freedom of information,

· 379 cases in connection with personal data protection,

· 90 cases relating to both spheres of competence and operations of the Commissioner’s Office.

A total of 4256 pending cases were carried forward from the previous period (3691 – freedom of information, 519 – data protection, 46 – other cases, so a total of 5.119 cases were handled during the month).

A total of 820 cases were resolved during this month (347 - freedom of information, 381 – data protection, 92 – harmonisation of the law and regulations)

There are 4299 cases pending (3738 – freedom of information, 517 – data protection and 44 - harmonisation of the law and regulations)

According to the available call records, 1401 contacts with citizens and public authorities were made to provide advice on the exercise of freedom of information and with citizens and personal data controllers for consultations in connection with implementation of the Law on Personal Data Protection and cases handled.
